Maintain perfectly balanced spa water with Master Clear pH Down. High pH and elevated total alkalinity can reduce sanitizer effectiveness, create cloudy water, cause calcium scale buildup, and shorten the life of your spa’s heater, pumps, and plumbing.
Master Clear pH Down uses premium sodium bisulfate (dry acid) to safely lower pH and alkalinity without the hazards associated with liquid muriatic acid. The fast-dissolving granular formula is easy to measure and helps restore proper water chemistry quickly.
Properly balanced water keeps chlorine and bromine working efficiently while preventing mineral deposits, improving water clarity, and providing a more comfortable soaking experience.
Master Spas recommends maintaining a pH between 7.4 and 7.6, with an acceptable operating range of 7.2–7.8, and total alkalinity between 80–120 ppm.

Use and Dosage

Target pH Range
7.2–7.8 (Ideal Master Spas range: 7.4–7.6.)
If pH Is Above 7.8
Add approximately 1 teaspoon per 200 gallons, circulate the water for 30–60 minutes, then retest. Make small adjustments to avoid overshooting the desired range.
If Total Alkalinity Is Above 120 ppm
Lower alkalinity first, then fine-tune pH as needed.
Ongoing Maintenance
Test water 2–3 times per week and adjust as necessary.
